Despite their thorns and tendency to ramble, bougainvillea are really beautiful plants. Did you know that their colorful blooms are really bracts (leaves that change color to help with reproduction) and the tiny white flowers sprouting from the center of the bracts are, in fact, their only flowers?

I saw this one at my local garden shop, and as it's a color I've never seen before, it may end up in my garden:
