I have to temporarily interrupt this hiatus for something very odd that I saw on the road today:

If that's a holding strap, I want one.

On Hiatus

As I have several time-intensive projects (including MegaCon next week) demanding my attention, I'm going to put PBWindow on hiatus until I get through them. But before I go, here is the finished version of the crazy quilted tote I've been working on for the last couple of weeks, and took to the annual County Quilt show with me:

The back of the tote is much the same as the front, with a few color and bead changes:

I was very pleased with how the center patch on the back turned out, too:

Thanks to everyone who stops in here to comment and support the blog, and once I get through all this work I hope to have lots of interesting pics to share.

When you go out into the world armed with a camera and curiosity you really never know what to expect. Here's a slideshow of what I saw one afternoon when I went to photograph the birds at a lakeside spot:

3 Hour Project ~ End Sign

Spotted this just as my three-hour window for this project was closing. Serendipity!

Dreaming of Swans

I'm going to interrupt my 3-hour project week so I can share a slideshow of all the pics I took at this year's County Quilt Show, which I think was one of the best they've had in years. When possible I tried to take a full and close-up shot of the full-sized quilts being exhibited, although it was so crowded both days I wasn't always successful. Be warned, there are over two hundred photos in this collection:

3 Hour Project ~ Baking It

A pizza oven at the restaurant -- and after smelling the delicious pies it produces, I want one of my own!

3 Hour Project ~ Surcharges

Boy, if I had charged this every time someone complained to me I'd be like a zillionaire by now.

3 Hour Project ~ Pasta!

This bowl of pasta was part of the meal I ordered at the restaurant; note the shape of the little garlic bread that came with it -- great branding. :)

3 Hour Project ~ Fish Light

Hanging over our table at the restaurant was this neat light fixture suspended from an old pulley. Remember the little fish when you check out tomorrow's pic.

3 Hour Project ~ Watcher

Some art at a restaurant where we stopped for a meal. I'm not sure what was creepier: it looking down at me, or me looking up its nostril.

3 Hour Project ~ The Best Blues

For this week's 3 hour project I limited myself to taking only one pic of the beach. Required heroic effort, btw.

In 3 Hours

To challenge myself a little while I was traveling I tried to take enough interesting photos in three hours to post on the blog for one week. Here's the first, spotted at a gas station while filling up:

Now I'm wondering if I could make our old pickup into an Fantastic Ford . . . .

Like Honey

I'm back at the home improvement stores looking at flowers for my Spring garden, and here's one I'm definitely going to plant at Casa PBW:

I discovered Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima) while out walking in our neighborhood; I'd pass a yard and suddenly be enveloped in the scent of honey. It was only after a few weeks did I spot the culprit, these tiny white flowers that were planted in borders and as ground cover wherever I picked up the scent. If you'd like to add a wonderfully fragrant flower to your garden, definitely check out this one.
